Here's what people are saying about "Quiet Might"

"In the face of so much over-produced music, it is a refreshing break to listen to your 'straight-from-the-heart' songs".                                      David Lanz / Narada recording artist

"An eclectic blend of styles that merge effertlessly into one. Add Rob's stratophere falsetto and you get one very unique collection of love songs." Paul Speer /musician/poducer/engineer

The Band: The Blues Torpedoes are a hot boogie blues band from Olympia, Washington. This five piece band is cut from the urban electric blues tradition that “takes from the best and improves on the rest.” Band members, Jerry “JB” Bentley on lead and electric slide guitars and vocals, Mel “Blues Mama” Buechel on vocals, Gary “the Sound” Broers on guitar and vocals, Joey “T.Bone” Williams on bass and vocals, and Doug “the foot” Mah on drums, each share a love of music and a passion for the blues. The group successfully mixes jazz, rock, country, and pop influences to form what they like to call “boogie blues” - songs with soaring melodies, a strong back beat, solid bass line, and ripping guitar.

Midnight Man: . In 1995 the Blues Torpedoes recorded their first CD, “Midnight Man.” The CD, a mix of cover and original tunes, has received the following reviews:

Award winning blues artist Duffy Bishop has described the CD as:
“a tight, moving, well thought out disc. Fine musicianship all around and a delicious taste treat to savor each prime cut. And Mel’s voice is the velvety frosting that makes it dessert.”

The Walla Walla Blues Society reviewed the CD and said: “...we get a lot of CD’s in the mail...we occasionally come across a diamond in the rough, a CD from an unknown band from some yet unheard of and obscure record label that is so listenable that you just can’t seem to pry it out of your stereo. I found one of these just this week, “Midnight Man,” by the Blues Torpedoes...”

The Blues Connection from Oregon has described the CD as: “A very nice surprise from Olympia, Washington...boogie blues is the thing for us....For our money they succeed and then some. Lead singer Mel Buechel would fit right in as one of Antones’ Women.”
