Lips By A. Earick featuring Randy Oxford on Trombone
These Blues By
A. Earick

About the Band:
Charlie Valentine - Bass & vocals
Al Earick - Guitar & Vocals
Jim Cree - Drums & Vocal
High energy performances. A unique blues/R&B sound that'll make you scream for more and/or relief . Four piece harmony with
vocals as tight as new shoes. Led by the talented, versatile and energetic Al Earick on lead guitar and featuring the harmonica of
Scott Mitchell and the hot sax of Sheryl Clark, FunkinGroovin is one of the most dynamic live bands on the music scene today. Ask
Charlie, and he simply calls his style, "Funky Blues, hold the bagpipes". Playing relentlessly, or as some would have it, neurotically, the
band continues to careen from club to club, anywhere they can find clean power, dirty floors and a dancin' fool. The first FunkinGroovin CD, entitled Easy To Look At - But So Hard To Get Along With. was released in 1999 to killer reviews.

Easy To Look At By
A. Earick

About the Band:
Charlie Valentine - Bass & vocals
Al Earick - Guitar & Vocals
Jim Cree - Drums & Vocal
Dazzling performances. A unique, energetic blues/R&B sound. Unrelenting demand by the clubs where they regularly "rock the house". Led by the talented, versatile and energetic Al Earick on lead guitar, FunkinGroovin is one of the most dynamic live bands on the music scene today. Ask Charlie, and he simply calls his style, "Funky Blues with hardly any yodeling". This is fortunate as the sight of Charlie in Lederhosen would give anybody The Blues! Playing any place they can find a drunk and a dancing girl, the band has performed in seedy bars as well as glittering "Belle Palais D'Artes" for the past 3 years, but truth be told mostly in the seedy bars.

Poor Boy traditional
Big Hands by David Jacobs-Strain

About the Recording:
16 year old guitarist, David Jacobs-Strain, sings and plays the country blues.
"Skin And Bones" is a solo, all acoustic recording made when he was still 15.
It includes original as well as traditional material steeped in the Mississippi Delta
style of bottleneck blues.

"Jacobs-Strain's passion is evident in his breathy moan and in the trance-like drone he
draws out of his National Resophonic and diddley bow on material that mostly predates
him by several generations....Keep and eye on this guy" ------Bill Kisliuk, Blues Access
Magazine (Winter, 1999)
