David Brewer: Too Loud ...Move Back! The first time I heard David's music, I didn't get it. His blistering, paint peeling guitar attack camouflaged the subtleties of his sensitive and intelligent song writing skills. Long about my second or third exposure to Mr. Brewer, my thick-headed prejudices fell away, and I began to understand what a genius he is. I ain't lyin', genius he is. His guitar flows with pure emotion. David says, "I don't play it. I just hold it, and the blues comes out!" His song writing skills are unparalleled. From the sly humor of Bob's Trailer Heaven to the dark and threatening Lookin' For Some Good Luck, this CD release drips with Brewer Band originality. Even the off-beat covers of Bobby Troupe and Greg Allman tunes kept me wonderin'. Like his beloved '41 Knucklehead Harley-Davidson, David's music is a throwback to a thick and loud guitar attack, once championed by the Master of the Telecaster, Albert Collins. I don't know if there is room in the blues market
for Mr. Brewer, but there is room in my collection, and my heart,
for his masterful and soaring music. If David's music is too loud
and too threatening for you, take my advice, move back and listen
to a musical originator. Trust me. It's as good as a government check!
