A Portrait By Indy
Gerry Andal's
Highway 101
From the moment they formed, Highway 101 presented a new approach
to country music. The groups blend of country roots and tradition
with rock n roll energy helped to catapult the country genre forward,
tapping a whole new audience and paving the way for such mass appeal artists
as Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson and Tim McGraw.
Their appearance at Blazing Saddles was a high point
of our Summer Concert Series. They put on a show that all who attended
will remember for quite awhile. It is not often you get to see a band
of this caliber up close and in such an intimate setting. They were fun
and musically exciting and totally enjoyable.

Trent
Tomlinson
Singer/songwriter Trent Tomlinson is one of those rare
performers whose music is as straight-ahead and unpretentious as he is.
"My songs," he says simply, "are real-life situations with
kick-ass guitar." "It's 'open a beer, sit in a lawn chair, let's
have a party' country," he says of his music. "At the same time,
the songs are saying, 'I have the ability to love you, to understand,'
and at the end of the day all that matters is Mama and Daddy and going
to heaven. That pretty much sums everything up."Trent honed his music
to perfection in countless demo studios over the years. "I've had
five publishing deals," he says. "I've practically lived in
the studio, creating and honing a sound of my own. And it turns out that
five of the songs on the album record are actually my demos -- Lyric Street
loved them so much as is that we just went in and re-sang and tweaked
a little, instead of re-recording."

Danny
O'Keefe
In the 1970's, Danny O'Keefe put out a string of albums that cemented
his reputation as being among the best songwriters of his generation.
These days, casual fans know him best for his Top Ten hit "Good Time
Charlie's Got The Blues" or Jackson Browne's version of "The
Road" from the classic Running On Empty album. But the story didn't
end in the 70's. He continued to release the occasional album and recently
returned with In Time, his first solo release in nine years.
ERIC
CHURCH
Eric’s first release has three hits already. “”HOW
BOUT YOU” “TWO PINK LINES”
“GUYS LIKE ME"
When asked about placing 11th on Country Weekly's poll for Country's Sexiest
Man, Eric says he's not showing off, not falling behind. We just wanted
to thank everyone for getting out there and voting to get Eric on this
list. When asked about his position on the list Eric said, "If I
was married to Faith Hill we definitely would've been top 10!" Thanks
again for the support and rockin' the polls! See you on the road.
JULIE
ROBERTS
With her deep, blues-soaked voice that poignantly captures
the pain of the wronged and forgotten, Julie Roberts quickly became a
favorite of the fans and fickle music critics alike.
Entertainment Weekly awarded her 2004 self-titled debut CD an A,
calling it one of the most auspicious debuts in years. The
New York Times said Roberts aching and resolute hit, Break
Down Here, was one of the years best country ballads.
Spotting her talent early, CMT selected Roberts to be the first artist
ever to appear in In the Moment, the music networks hour-long documentary
on the making of a star.
The album was certified gold and led to two Horizon Award nominations
from the Country Music Association, as well as a Top New Artist nomination
and a Top New Female Vocalist nomination from the Academy of Country Music
Awards, as well as a Breakthrough Artist nomination from the CMT Awards.
She delivered two memorable performances on The Tonight Show with Jay
Leno and was chosen over artists in all musical genres to sing the Good
To Go theme song of the television show Good Morning America. Its
been amazing, she says of her success. Weve played so
many places and Ive been to so many places. But I havent really
had time to sit back and reflect on all weve done.
With her debut CD, Roberts was country musics Cinderella, a
stunning blonde from Lancaster, S.C., who stole everyones heart
with her honest music, cover-girl looks, exuberant personality and irresistible
laughter. And now with her second album, Men & Mascara, Roberts proves
shes in it for the long run.

Dan
Baird
Daniel John Baird was born
on 12 December 1953 in San Diego, California, USA. Later on, his family
moved to Atlanta, Georgia, USA. In 1980, guitarist Rick Richards, bassist
Keith Christopher and drummer David Michaelson got together. After a couple
weeks, Baird sat in. They became Keith & The Satellites. Eventually,
Christopher and Michaelson left the band. Baird and Richards went on and
recorded a six-song EP called Keep The Faith for the British Making Waves
label in 1984.
Shortly thereafter, Baird split to hook
up with Woodpeckers which featured Terry Anderson. That spelled the end
of the original incarnation of the Satellites. Richards hooked up with
bassist Rick Price and drummer Mauro Magellan to form the Hellhounds.
Eventually, Baird came back home to jam with his old buddies. Elektra
Records noticed the EP - and the band quickly reformed as the Georgia
Satellites.
The band released its aforementioned self-titled debut in 1986, which
contained the hit single "Keep Your Hands To Yourself." After
that brush with 15-minute stardom, however, the mainstream public moved
on and the
Satellites floundered. The 1988 follow-up, Open All Night, tanked, despite
being only slightly weaker, and 1989's magnum opus In The Land Of Salvation
& Sin was basically ignored, despite being one mother of a rock record.
In 2005, Dan Baird realised a new band, Homemade Sin with Dan Baird, Ken
McMahan, Keith Christopher and Mauro Magellan. A live CD ´Feels
so Good´ was released. More touring, also with The Yayhoos, was
done, especially in Europe. In 2007 Ken McMahan was replaced by Warner
E. Hodges of Jason and the Scorchers fame. The Yayhoos released ´Put
The Hammer Down´, a splendid CD with song writing contributions
from all the members. In 2008, the self-titled CD of Homemade Sin was
released, another great record, followed by an extensive tour in Europe.
In 2008, Dan Baird has created his own MySpace page.

Trent Summar
Not that labels in music matter much at least
they shouldnt but Trent Summar has an evocative and altogether
hard-to-resist term for the music he makes: Farm rock.
Trent BWThat probably says it well enough. But in case further explanation
helps, were talking about that intersection where Chuck Berry rock
and George Jones country converge. Were talking about love songs
that veer off the beaten path with honest slices of rural imagery and
humor. Its a place on the musical map thats entirely familiar
but just a little too rowdy, a little too much fun (and in truth, too
rooted in tradition) to be called mainstream country.
Local Artist that we have worked with

"I don't know where this stuff
comes from. The songs write me, I don't write them. I certainly have
tons of life experiences and a great imagination, but sometimes the
beauty or perfection of a line I've just written can surprise me."

"They're my songs, right or wrong.
I feel a little corny saying it, but my best description is Gut Music.
Yeah, I know the connotation isn't exactly delicate, but then, neither
am I. Least that's my opinion, which we're all entitled to."

Megan is a prolific writer and
has spent several years incubating her talents and creating a rich
library of original songs. Her first full-length recording,
Married to the Melody, is an album which reflects her small-town roots,
blending bluegrass, mainstream country and classic rock with a Nashville-flavored
twist. Her music has been featured on MTV's "Laguna Beach" and
in the film "Lost on the B Side" where she co-starred as an actress...plus
she co-starred on WB's "Everwood". |

the same time shines through on Sooner or Later and Never Ask Why.

What started as just a couple
guys from Montana and Canada gettin' together to combine followings
soon took off into regional phenomenon. Since the inception of "Nathan
Chance" in May of 2006, the boys have opened for National-caliber
Acts such as Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, Shedaisy, Brooks n'
Dunn, George Strait and most recently.... Rascal Flatts. Their following
continues to grow in the northwest due in large part to the support
of major market stations like KMPS of Seattle. Their style of country
music has been labeled "Industrialized Country" by producers in
Nashville. Fans from all over the Pacific Northwest continue
to flock to shows as they've come to expect the best "regional"
entertainment around. Come see for yourself how two small town boys
have managed to capture the attention of big crowds. Welcome to
Nathan Chance Country...
